i'm sorry that all my photos look exactly the same always, i hope you can see a quiet intimacy in them; that is so often what i'm inspired by. there are also pictures of some words that i wrote- it's much more difficult to share little poems and writings than anything else for me, but i write every night and i don't want the words to stay trapped between the covers of my journal forever (although, that is probably where most of them will stay)

it makes you blind, it does you in. it makes you think you're pretty tough. it makes you prone to crime and sin, it makes you say things off the cuff. it's very small and made of glass, and grossly over advertised. it turns a genius into an ass, and makes a fool think he is wise. it could make you regret your birth, or turn cartwheels in your best suit. it costs a lot more than it's worth, and yet there is no substitute. they keep it on the higher shelf, the older and more pure it glows. it has no colour in itself, but it can make you see rainbows. you can find it on the bowery, you can fine it at elaine's, it makes your words more flowery, it makes the sun shine, makes it rain. you just get out what they put in, and they never put in enough.

I am by no means a food blogger, but my smoothies in the morning look so pretty I thought I'd share. I stopped eating meat about 7 months ago and had to change my diet quite a lot so I was still getting everything I needed to be a proper functioning human being. It's green because I put in spinach o.O don' hate. Is good. Anyway if anyone cares this is my bestest smoothie with heaps of good shit in it (also i dont measure anything ever so just assume that all measurements are based on as much as i can fit in my hand):

-handful of spinach
-blueberries
-banana
-whatever kind of spoonful you can find of L(inseed)S(unflower seeds)A(lmond)
-same spoonful size of flaxseed
-spash of oatmilk (or whatever...I convinced myself I have a dairy intolerance even though there is no evidence to support this. except my fake intolerance does not apply to cheese)
-ice

Blend it all up, put it in a glass and call it breakfast.

It was my 21st birthday yesterday, and I made a really tacky but also really awesome little nook in my garden. If you've been reading this blog for a whle you'll know that I really don't like my own birthdays (because I am not a normal person who enjoys normal things), but last night was kind of great. I had my best friends over ( as many as I could scrape together...so many are still overseas :( ) and we sat on the ground and drank pimms and mojitos and talked about all the stupid shit we did when we were younger.

For some reason, the older I get, I feel like I know nothing about anything. There is so much I want to do, so much I want to be that sometimes it all feels so big and insurmountable. But last night it was enough just to sit outside in the clear night with the people I love all around me and positive energy pulsing through the spaces between us.

Merry happy festive joyful holy season loves! Today was a destructive day for the following reasons:

- I left my lovely family to come back to Melbourne to "get things done"...but now I can't imagine what could have been so important

- I tried on everything in my wardrobe and alternated between sobbing and going back to see if anything looked better than before then finding that I looked the same as 10 minutes ago then crying naked on the bathroom floor etc.

-Subsequently taking scissors to MULTIPLE ITEMS OF CLOTHING in the hopes of my artistic vision and creative talent materialising into a single amazing item of clothing that would solve world hunger and also not make me feel shit

-I TRIED TO GO TO BOXING DAY SALES and then I remembered that mass crowds of desperate sweaty women pawing over weird not quite right boned shorts or strange corseted denim jumpsuits ain't really my scene

-There was copious amounts of brie in my immediate vicinity.

And now it's 2am and I'm watching Happy Days and it's getting to that time of night when the reaaally long ProActiv ads come on TV and I know I'm going to watch it for at least 20 minutes. So many things wrong with me. Anyway I think the initial point of this post was to show one of the semi acceptable results of my clothing massacre. I literally just hacked out the shoulders with nothing but blunt scissors and blind ambition. It worked enough for me to wear it all day today, but not enough for me to ever pick it up again off my bedroom floor. So yeah, good day. Gotta go Justin Bieber just came on the Proactive ad.

Ryan Kenny is a 19 year old Australian photographer and he is so, so talented. I feel bad that I have only recently found out about him but recognise a lot of his photos as ones I have used (uncredited) before. It's so incredible how many young people are emerging as beautiful artists through the avenues the internet provides. I really love that- more and more it seems- people are getting work and recognition on their own terms and purely based on their own talent rather than being forced to rely on magazines, agencies, age or previous experience. The internet is such a powerful tool, and although the act of sitting on your ass staring at a computer screen is pretty anti social itself, there is a whole world of inspiration and never-ending network of (usually unknown) talent to discover. I'm not advocating world wide web over real world, but having instant access to the entire world makes me want to go and live and discover it so much. I'm going to get off the computer now.

I only just found Lana Del Rey, but I'm never letting go. This song is beautiful. I love the sentiment in "go play your video games", to me it's both explicit and metaphorical in meaning. I think that every girl knows that feeling of giving your whole body and mind and heart to someone and wanting so badly for them to love you back, but you're left alone wearing your pretty dress over your pretty lingerie. The film clip is a beautiful montage of dreamy clips.

I met a boy a loved a little bit while I was away, but I had to leave him behind. We decided not to give each other any way to contact one another. I think that way it will never get sad, it will always be as good and perfect as it was at the time.

Photos and video I shot for aforementioned talented friend Georgie. She made this dress for her final uni fashion submission- it's extra special because the dreamy watercolour skirt is a print of one of her mama's paintings. After a severe model drought (which included a less than successful plea via facebook that was definitely not taken as seriously as intended-model drought=serious issue guyz) our lovely friend Emma conceded to our begging and pleading "As long as they won't go on the internet..." (sorry gurl). But she looks so pretty! Shot these on the first day of sun after lots of rain in the Botanical Gardens.

I love working on projects with friends, while I'll always try to complete things to the best of my ability regardless of who I'm working with, the subconscious love and effort and investment you have in something that a friend has created makes for something special. Directly and indirectly the people around me and in my life inspire me so much, I hope everyone has friends as smart and funny and talented as I do!

Spent the night hanging out at Georgie's place, watching her hand sew little details onto the beautiful clothes that she makes while I filmed her. For most of my life I thought I would study fashion design, and I tried sewing for a while, but I sucked and was not talented. But Georgie is, and I can see her learning every time she makes something new. That's what I love about art and creativity- it's a process that is never ending; there's always something new to create or learn or fuck up or master. And if you're lucky, in the end you are left with something beautiful that you created in your own mind and made with your own hands. You can run out of money, but you can't ever run out of ideas.

Time was a message, just as it had been dangerous. It was firm and hard, and long gone.

Aside from my Japanese iPhone apps (of which I have many...), I have no connection or association with Japan. Of course as with any great tragedy around the world we are all devastated and shocked by the unbelievable events...but only for a moment (for me, anyway) before my attention is consumed by something silly and selfish . I'm not trying to jump on the "Save Japan" bandwagon at all, but it took these photos and some pretty unbelievable videos for the magnitude of the disaster to register with me. These images are equally incredible as they are devastating, they are so unreal to me they look cinematic. I guess my main reason for posting these is to share their significance, and moreover the importance and impact of new media globally in the midst of tragedy or devastation. I usually think of photography or film as an outlet for expression and creativity, but its impact on silly little people like me when used to capture events like this is profound. I don't think I could imagine it by myself.

These made me feel very sad and small, and realise that my problems aren't really problems at all.

Vanishing Words

I ruined all of my letters the other day, and now the words are gone forever. I accidentally spilt a glass of water through my drawer, and after putting them out in the sun to dry the ink faded away and vanished. There's something so intimate about writing words on a page in this day and age of notifications and texts and emails (i'm doing a communications degree. can you tell), I can't believe all those words are lost. The ones from the other side of the world, the ones I could never look at, the ones that you wrote me for a year are all a mess of bleeding ink and chromatography. At least they look kind of tragically pretty.

(maybe tragic is a little dramatic... but it was a sad day!)

On the topic of things that are tragically pretty...The Antlers album Hospice is getting so much love from me at the moment. All of the lyrics are so. fucking. good. If your impatient it can be hard to get into...but I really love it. I saw them play the other night and the were super rad.

The Space Within Our Heads, The Space Between Our Beds

Some photos I have taken over the past little while of my second home, nothing too exciting but I have a lot of happy memories here. Eating dinner on the floor, cups of tea that mend broken hearts and fix all our problems, making huge quantities of Pimms in large decorative bowls, drinking red wine and smoking and talking about everything in the little courtyard. One of my best friends Cheesy (there is a perfectly reasonable explanation for this nickname...) and her house mate Alice' little flat. Even though it's not mine I feel like it's one of those places that will be an important part of the scenery when I think back on these years.

I'm going to Europe for four months in July, by myself for the most part. In my mind the friends I have there will be like this

Even if I don't get to live in The Spanish Apartment, I hope that it's going to be the best thing I have ever done. Please tell me your favourite place in Europe so I can go there too! I really want to know!

Most Times I Feel Alright.

I'm baaaack lovers. The holiday season has had me wandering all over the place, but I'm home (for now). In the last few days we have ruined our brains and our bodies, but now it's time to stop for a moment and sort our lives out. It's funny how a new year (for me at least) represents a fresh start; a time where we can wipe the slate clean from all our problems and mistakes and heartbreaks from the previous year and make promises to ourselves that we will be better, smarter, thinner, wiser, happier. When really all it is is the transition from one day to another, like any other.

Anyway. Cynicism aside. My resolution this year is to learn from the people around me. To listen to the experiences of myself and others and take advice from everything I can. As insignificant or profound or silly as it might be, I want to hear the things they wish they had known. Please leave me a little piece of advice if there is anything you know that you think we can learn from!

It's a new year, but it's not a new me. I'm still here.

I made a little cubby! We can watch movies and drink wine and talk about life and other things we don't understand in there. I feel like this year is slipping out from underneath me far too quickly! There are things I am trying to hold onto, but they are being left behind because time is running away.

Change is good but I wish I could just stop life for a little while, to sit outside and breathe and be with the good things for just a little longer. Usually I am so restless for life to change and new things to happen, but I'm worried that time keeps passing and I haven't done enough with it.

In the past few weeks I've really started to understand how important it is to enjoy what you do. Ever since forever my dad has said to only do the things that make you happy, because they are the only things that you will ever be really fucking great at. And it is the only way to love your life. I haven't been following that advice lately, spending too much time working and worrying. Even though it's unrealistic to completely eliminate all the average aspects, at this point in our lives there is no reason that we shouldn't be doing the things that we love. If you are delaying a dream because it seems to hard or impractical or for no reason at all other than laziness (guilty), this is your sign. Go do it. We are so young and so lucky.

P.S A few weeks ago I went and saw Swedish sisters First Aid Kit play at a tiny little show, sooo amazing. Harmonies that will literally give you chills.

My Manic and I

Creepy archival crime scene photos taken between 1912-1964 cut up with pretty things. I pulled the crime scene photos from Accident Music, a blog run by the curator of an exhibition at the Justice and Police Museum (my favourite is the first one). The details of the crimes were destroyed in a flood, leaving only the negatives to piece together the stories. I can't really take credit for finding them, one of my tutors at uni showed them to me and I was completely intrigued, but I'm kind of obsessed with creepy stuff, especially crime. As you well know. I used to be very afraid of the dark. Even now I can never sleep with my limbs outside the blankets (for fear of scary night creatures grabbing them) and sometimes I wake up absolutely convinced there is someone in my room and have to hold my breath to hear any noise they might make...although as of yet I haven't encountered any unwelcome night time visitors.

Aside from my childish and irrational fears, I have come to welcome dark nights and full moons, places are completely transformed when the sun goes down and the stars ignite (although city kids like me don't really get to see them very often). Being outside in the darkness with the moon on your skin is peaceful and haunting and comforting and lonely all at the same time.

I don't know what the point of all that was. But it's dark and quiet right now and I like it. Come outside and look at the moon with me?

Random stuff from my life that I look at everyday. Although the exercise bullet point on my To Do list was more obligatory than realistic...First day of Spring today annnnd it is cold and rainy, thank you Melbourne. But the cherry blossoms in my garden have still come out and I have been doing a little symbolic uncluttering of my life and brain. Getting rid of a lot of old things to make way for the new and different!

I am alive. I still exist. I'm sorrrry for my absence, it's been too long between drinks. Unfortunately I have been quite uninspired lately, waiting for something to come and find me instead of going out to get it myself. I literally had to force myself to take some photos to get out of my rut (not sure why my hair is pretending to be red in these photos??)

The angsty name of this post refers to the lovely Megan Washington's debut album which dropped July 30, I lovvvvve it. I saw her open for The Grates a year or two ago and she was so lovely and fun, I've been waiting for an album from her for agges. My favourites are Underground and Sunday Best. And I Believe You, Liar. And Rich Kids. And everything else. Quick, go find her right now here. I awkwardly came home relatively intoxicated a few days ago and in the wee hours of the morning bought like 4 tickets to one of her shows in Melbourne...soooo hopefully some people will come with me....

Dark and Stormy

I want to have an en garde with those umbrellas (that makes sense in my head). None of these photos are mine but I really like the colours and the moody mood (...that also makes sense).

I talked to a pretty boy on the train today, it was dark and cold outside and he was wearing a very nice navy coat, he liked my little paper crane necklace and I liked his eyes. A friend of mine gets free coffee from a guy at the coffee place near her work, and another one is pretty sure he has found his soul mate based on the CD's she buys from his shop. Even if nothing comes of it and you never see them again, it's nice to have brief flirtations with pretty people that make you smile on the walk home. I think that the little things count for lots.

merry little fancy things

...So I bought the snake ring. And I love it (even though it's too big and I have to put blue-tac in the back to make it fit). I'm not going to say I have full range of hand movement, but I'm pretty sure I can still perform essential tasks like driving, eating, painting nails, using chopsticks, playing the lute etc. So far I've found that people either oooh and ahhh and wish they had a freaky snake to bite their fingers too...or else their eyes widen and they're all like "ohhh yeah....mmhm..." (read: what the fuck is that, that girl may need psychological help.)

The flat silver ring was given to me as an 18th present by my best friend, and the rose gold band used to be my Grandmother's, I wear them both every day.

We have had a lot of new friends come join us very quickly thanks to the lovely feature on my mother from Kimberly of Wildfox...I hope you all keep coming and visiting me lots! When I told one of my friends I had gotten a whole bunch of new followers he expressed an interest in having followers of his own, but ones that would literally follow him around the house every day and comment on the things he does. So any takers, enquire within. I have a few lovely shoots planned out in my brain (with people that are not me in them, don't worry) that I will get up very soooooon (I think) (I hope).

New clothes lalalalaaaa. Purchased this snuggly little baby yesterday and I'm not sure I'll be taking it off any time soon. Although I'm about to head into my sixth day straight of work in order to support my habit...I also purchased a handy dandy little wireless remote for le camera (!!$6 on Ebay including postage!!) for those late night moments of inspiration/boredom.

A new friend showed me this video the other day which I think is probably one of the coolest ones I've seen in a while. Usually I would tell you to skip to a good part but it's all prettttty rad. Captures the strength, darkness and slightly uncomfortable element of Gareth Pugh's clothes perfectly. Enjoy

Lots of pictures that I wish were mine. I would also like a box full of kittens. Can't sleep, don't you wish you could turn down your brain at night? Bed is where I do the most thinking/have ideas/analyse/overanalyse...it's easy to get tangled in thoughts crashing into each other when there is nothing to distract you. I have lots of friends travelling through different pockets of the world right now, starting to think I should get my shit together and get out there too.

Photos taken at a ridiculous hour of the morning (hence no one else around to force into my photos) wearing my new ridiculous excuse for a piece of clothing... completely sheer American Apparel top/dress/item I don't think is appropriate to wear out of the house. Although I'm kind of obliged to considering I got a $117 PARKING FINE while purchasing it. Ok so maaaaaybe I shouldn't have been parked in a loading zone. But whatever that is neither helpful nor relevant...(someone take my licence away from me).

One of my friends said these photos reminded her of Snow White all grown up which I thought was amusing and quite a fitting theme, especially since Snow White has been my nickname since I was little. So if anyone asks, that's what I was going for!

I always find the beach so serene and peaceful. Even when the waves are violently crashing into each other, it's easy to lose your thoughts to the infinite ocean. The sea and water are an endless source of inspiration for me, I have always been inexplicably drawn to the ocean. Doesn't matter if I'm fully clothed or if it's freezing, I can never stop myself from getting in the water! Always the child who got her clothes wet from paddling out too far, not much has changed....a quiet little walk to the beach in the freezing cold turned into a spontaneous play in the waves with my friend Georgie

I really wanted to get down to the beach to do an actual shoot before we left from our little road trip buttt unfortunately laziness/alcohol got in the way of that. My hair always smells like smoke and I've had a consistent headache for about a week now...time for a detox?

This morning it was grey and raining. So of course, the logical thing for me to do was drag my friend Jenny out of bed and make her take photos with me. Outside. On my roof. In very little clothing. Did I mention I'm a really good person? These photos are the result of 10 degrees at 10am, and a very obliging friend! I love it when it rains. But perhaps you should make sure you're not sleeping over at my house next time it does...

Try not to take notice of the goosebumps...she is fine now I swear...

My shopping problems have reached new heights now that I have a job and real money....maybe I will start up a foundation where people can donate to help my addiction? Ohhh wellll....pretty clothes mean pretty photos....hope you are all well and enjoying whatever you are doing at the moment!

I stumbled across some of these images in a horrendously expensive photography magazine a few months ago...so I did the logical thing and took a sneaky iPhone photo of her name and pulled them off the internet instead. The perfect balance between creepy and beautiful.

One of my friends linked me to some of these photos the other day, and I have actually fallen in love. I often feel like nudity in some photographs doesn't really have a purpose and is just used for the sake of being provocative, but to me it is entirely appropriate in these shots. They're intimate and warm and sensual, and make me want to convince my friends to lounge around in their underwear so I can take photos...(that's not meant to be as creepy as it sounds....)

I found Nirrimi a few weeks ago somehow from my awkward blog trawling obsession (this is not a joke....my mum tried to have an internet addiction intervention with me) and I was amazed to find out that she's only 17! She's got serious skillz behind the lens and has already shot for huge clients like Diesel and Oyster mag, which is kindofsortofreally rad. Gregory Crewdson

As much as I am a sucker for soft, dreamy photos, I equally love stylised pictures that almost look like they could be stills from a movie. I'm not quite sure when or how I came across Gregory Crewdson's work, but they're some of my absolute favourites. They're quite eerie and creepy, which is always a plus in my books. I would like to have some giant prints on my wall now please.

Last time I took photos my model literally started turning blue and shivering uncontrollably and wouldn't get warm even when she was under the hot shower for like 15 minutes...but you know. She lived. It's fine...but nobody ever offers twice...

Falling Away

Ok, so I know I complained a lot about the end of summer...but secretly (...or not so secretly) I am actually really excited about Autumn and Winter. New climate, new clothes, and new colours...Autumn especially is so beautiful with all the vibrant, warm colours in contrast with a cool blue or grey light. There's nothing particularly amazing about these photos, but the leaves in my front yard looked so pretty the other morning I took some shots. FYI, it's really hard to try and have one hand in a photo and one hand taking it. I need to get some more friends.

I have so many photos like these that I take just so I can remember the colours...uni is over now so expect some shoots to come! Also I changed the music again...the first song called Falling Away (I decided to get really punny and call this post falling away too...get it?? Because it's about Fall?? Even though we don't call it Fall in Australia?? I'm hilarious) is by a band called Big Scary who I've liked a lot for a while, but I went to see them live last night and like turned into love...they're kind of rad. I think you will enjoy.

Before We Grow Up

I love old photos. Sometimes you forget that your parents and other older people in your life used to be young too...it's interesting to see the way they were before their lives happened. Already at nineteen I am seeing how transient youth is, and the importance of appreciating the relatively brief time of seeing, doing, exploring, without that sense of responsibility or obligation that I guess comes when you grow up.

These are some of my favourite photos I've collected of my mum. There is such a difference between the tactile, intimate sense of someones life in photos developed from film than digital images on a computer screen, I always wonder how my children are going to look through my life when I grow up. I think I need to start making some real life albums!

Remember my friend Sarah? I finaaaally did a more recent shoot with her. I've had this concept running around in my head for a little while...candlelit, soft, but a bit witchy and dark (I got jealous of the vibes from the shoot in my last post and decided to do it too!) Overall I quite like the way these turned out...some are a bit weak I think because I didn't quite refine my ideas as well as I should have. But really, when you have a pretty girl, pretty clothes and a pretty setting, how wrong can you go? That's what I like to tell myself anyway...

Thanks to my friends for letting me use their place to shoot...and I am very very sorry I got wax all over your copy of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban...Also thanks to Sares for being so attractive. Helloo bebes. Sooo last night I went to the final round of a Battle of the Bands competition called Bandtasia (silly name) and it was reaaaalllly funnnn! Live music is probably on of my favvvvourite things ever and I always love finding fun new bands by accident (if you know of or have a schweet band and you play in Melbourne I want to know!!!) Anyway one of the bands in the finals was a pretty rad little group called RedBerryPlum. They are fantastiqqque and describe their sound like "being slapped in the face by a strawberry!" (so cute!) I'm really annoyed that I missed most of their set, but I've listened to them quite a lot on MySpace in the past. They're kind of awesome and your day will be better if you go and listen to them here...my favourite song I think is Ghetto Fabulous (which sounds nothing like the title suggests!)...or Emma Rose...ahh they're all good! I stole the these photos from their Facebook page...

I was going crazy trying to figure out where I recognised the female singer from...her name is Rhia Taranto, remember she did a shoot a little while ago over at SRC783? She is quite beautiful

I found the last set of photos at Duke Phillips, I really love the blair witchy kinda vibe he has going on here. Definitely check out RedBerryPlum! I wish they had an album so I could play them really loud and dance around to them underneath rainbows with flowers in my hair (...or something else less embarrassing)! ALSO congratulations to the boys from Infrasonic for winning Bandtasia...they are so sick live!

Fluorescent Adolescent

I've been wanting to shoot in a gas station for a while. Usually I take photos with soft lighting, but I love the harsh fluorescent lights that come on at nighttime for a bit of a change to the romantic, whimsical stuff I tend to do. I was planning on coming up with a super awesome concept for a shoot using a model in the location, but as I was walking home from uni today I jusssst couldn't help myself. This evenings light was perfect to shoot in with the fluorescents... so I did it anyway. I'm crazy like that

It's crazy how ordered and linear everything is in these photos. I know that service station photos have been done before, but I quite like them. Although I'm sad that it is now officially too cold to get my walking home Slurpee (it was a serious issue for a while...I am talking at least 5 a week) so the Slurpee machine just sat there while I took its picture...taunting me with its sugary goodness.

Friends With Benefits

Bonjour Bebes! I am sorry I have been neglecting you this week, I've legit been super busy trying to get work handed in...it's funny...I like to tell myself that I "work better under pressure" (ie. the day before/morning an assignment is due)...except I don't think I've ever really tried the other way. You know, things organised people do. I am probably taking years off my life with the amount of unnecessary stress/all nighters from leaving things to the last minute!

OK. So. Today I am sharing with you a few photos of my friend Sarah. We've known each other since we were like 5 (YES she was the one who got to be the Swedish "Wind!" when we played Captain Planet that I so longed to be), and if you're going to get Green Eyed Monster on about someone, it is her.

There are LOT'S of beautiful looking people in the world, and with many of them so accessible to us these days through blogs and celebrity culture etc etc it's really not that huge anymore. So you're Miranda Kerr. Meh. Whatevs. No Biggie Smalls. What is more important are the ones who actually have other things to offer other than their looks. I don't need to go into what these qualities are, but there is a lot more depth to Bear than what's on the surface.

These are some photos I took of Bear like, a LONNNNNG time ago. I think about three years ago? So yeah I'm sorry the quality isn't great/they're not very creative on my behalf, but I think they are beautiful of her. The only make up I put on her in those photos was a little bit of eyeliner and vaseline.

Those last three shots are taken recently, but I can't take credit for them!

I don't usually use models as the main focus in my photos, but I'm planning on doing some shoots with Sare in the future...I just need to think of an idea that would do her justice! Hope you are well bebes, keep spreading the love

It's time, meet me on the sunny road

I like to take photos of the sky. Seriously, I drive my family crazy by being like "STOP THE CAR STOP THE CAR THE SUN IS COMING UP" (don't ask me why we were driving when the sun was coming up, it involves an unenjoyable 4 hour car trip that begins waaaaaaaaaaaaay toooooooo eaaaaarly). It's usually at some terribly inconvenient place like, on a highway that I want to stop. I don't know, there's something about the intensity of unpredictable colours in the sky (actually they probably are predictable, but I have no idea how) at a sunrise or sunset that is just so pretty and dreamy. Here are some of the sunrises and sunsets I have taken shots of recently

I wish I could take more sunrise pictures. There's nothing stopping me at all, except that sunrise is like...definitely about 3 hours before I even consider leaving my snuggly bed (WHY is bed soooo much more comfy when you have to get up!!!)

All of these pictures are unedited too. I love when a shot or scene is already so beautiful naturally that you don't need to manipulate it ago. Yeah nature, mad skillz.

90's TELEVISION- Hot boys and Rachel hair

Ok, so I know 90's week was technically over yesterday, but I just have onnnne more post which personally, I believe is the most important of them all. Television from the 90's. Now Bebes, TV of any kind holds a special place in my heart. It's where I learnt how to behave, developed crushes and basically taught me my system of morals (oh yeah...and maybe mum and dad helped out there too?) Honestly, some of my absolute favourite shows are from the 90's. OH THE TEEN DRAMAS. OH THE WHOLESOME FAMILIES AND CHEESY MUSIC WHEN AN IMPORTANT LIFE LESSON WAS BEING LEARNT.

I could definitely do a whole post on 90210. I lovvvvvvvve it! I tried to watch the new version for a little while but struggled to watch all the scarily skinny girls flit about and try to pretend they were in high school. Come on now, I was in high school, I know what 16 year old boys look like. It is not like that. OK so MAYBE all the boys of the 90's version were older too...but for some reason it just seemed so right and perfect (except maybe for Dylan...he had wrinkles at 18)

Oh Kelly, I love you. It makes me really sad to think that Kelly and Brenda apparently hated each other in real life. How I would have LOVED to play dress ups in Kelly's 90210 wardrobe!!

My fellow 90210 loving friend and I have a big problem with Donna's part in the show....WHY DIDN'T ANYONE REALLY ACKNOWLEDGE DONNA'S HOTNESS! Every time she walked into a room boys eyes should have popped out of their head and girls should have fainted and people should have said at the end of every sentence "damn, Donna is hot!"....pretty but not amazing face, but BEST.BODY.EVER. and the fact that she loved David Silver...she was a nice person too! Ah Donna, constantly overshadowed by Kelly and Brenda

Brenda annoys most people but I love her. Even when she's being annoying and irrational and runs off with Dylan.

Basically, I want to get this photo blown up and wear it on a T-shirt with I HEART BRANDON AND DYLAN on it. Brandon is actually my all time, number one TV crush. And apart from Leonardo DiCaprio, probably the otherlove of my life. I don't know why, I just love him. Perhaps it's those steadfast morals, unwavering integrity, fierce loyalty....or maybe it's just that he's really good looking. Who knows. I just love him.

Dawson's, closely competes with 90210 as my favourite 90's TV show.

I used to love Dawson...until I figured out he was really annoying. Now I just admire him fondly. Also one of the most non-intentionally hilarious moments on TV was when Joey sung "On My Own" from Les Mis and she was supposed to be really good...BUT SHE SOUNDED LIKE A CHIPMUNK ON KARAOKE NIGHT. Hahahahha. I just watched it again. So funny. Watch it here

....Yep. Full House. I've only just gotten back into this show, and my god that is some quality 90's television. Even now I dream of being brought up by three awesome young smart attractive men, imagine how guy savvy you would be! Steph was adorable (and has a drug problem in real life these days which is so sad), DJ kept going on and on and on about her hair which yes, was long, but whatever DJ, that doesn't make it "awesome" like you keep telling everyone. Oh, and need I even mention Michelle?

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have literally been working since they were babies, and they are kind of incredible. Basically every episode starts with Michelle doing something adorable, they basically made the show. Their mother must be very proud that they turned out to be smart enterprising young women, and not child star crack addicts

BECKY IS SO PRETTY. SHE IS LIKE THE PRETTIEST PERSON EVER. It took me a really long time to figure out that Becky is the mum on the new 90210...and yeah, she's still incredibly attractive.

JOHN STAMOS. WHAT A SEXY MAN. I still get chills when I think about the time he sung "When Michelle's Smiling" to get Michelle to sleep. (Seriously, you must watch it, here)

Oh wow, Rachel's eponymous haircut. Can you get any more 90's?

Now this is a story all about how my life got flipped- turned upside down, and I'd like to take a minute just sit right there, I'll tell you how I became the Prince of a town called Bel Air. Hell freaking yeah.

SABRINA! Everybody loves Sabrina! Although it freaks me out a bit to know that she now has two kids in real life. Why can't my favourite 90's TV characters just stay 18 forever!! It's like when I see photos of Brandon or Dawson and ESPECIALLY Dylan these days....freaks me the hell out

Now that is what I REALLY remember from the 90's. We used to play Captain Planet at play group and I always wanted to be to blonde Swedish "Wind!" but always had to be "Water!". Play group politics are tough.

AND NOW, I WOULD OFFICIALLY LIKE TO CLOSE 90'S WEEK. I've had a blast. I hope it has brought back lots of good memories!

90'S MUSIC- THE BEST OF THE CRAPPY/AWESOME

And now, we move from film to music. Bebes, I do not have the time or the space to even BEGIN to describe how the sounds of the 90's make me feel. It's the soundtrack to my childhood!!! I had basically every piece of Spice Girls merchandise you could own (backpacks, stationery, videos [hahaha, videos], figurines, lunch boxes, books)...I remember having to be put on the waiting list for the Spice Girls book at the library because every other 6 year old girl wanted to get their sticky little fingers on it...and being awkwardly excited to find out that Sporty Spice had the EXACT SAME birthday as me. But of course, it isn't all about the Spice Girls (...for everyone). There was just SO MUCH AWESOMENESS. Now keep in mind bebes my main fountain of knowledge for this post is my brain as an 8 year old...those one hit wonders, bands you completely forgot about...

I think now would be a good time to introduce....

The greatness that was Aqua. BARBIE GIRL??? DR JONES??? CARTOON HEROES??? Dear lord that was some quality crap music. Two years in a row my cousins and I made up dances to Aqua songs over Christmas...that's GOTTA COUNT FOR SOMETHING.....right?

Destiny's Child, back when there were four!!! Even then Beyonce still dominated. Those choreographed dances...those matching outfits...those VOICES! I feel really sorry for Michelle and Kelly and whats-her-name-that-left-at-the-start, like yes I may know all the words to to Kelly Rowland and Nelly's- Dilemma (you will always be my boooooo) but for some reason Beyonce just killed them in the solo act department. But I think she stole her dance moves off me anyway.

I don't have much time to write at the moment, I think I'll just let the bands speak for themselves

DON'T WORRY SPICE GIRLS I WOULD NEVER FORGET YOU. My god I was devastated when Gerry left and then they put out that crappy "Goodbye My Friend" and everything just went downhill from there. Also Victoria Beckham (I used to dress up like her at parties) looks sooooo diffferent..SO MUCH plastic surgery!!!

Now I know there are soooooo many I haven't included (especially ACTUALLY awesome 90's bands that are still on my playlist...but we'll save them for another time), please feel free to share your suggestions! Reminisce! Get out ye olde boom box! Dust off your walkman!

Wise words Cher, wise words. Bebes, 90's week lives on. Until I am bored with it. All sorts of marvellous, wonderful movies came out of the 90's, and not just the ones with Leo in them! From Clueless to Cruel Intentions, Pulp Fiction to Pretty Woman, let us reflect
